This three part series covers content from two schizophrenia symposiums:

• The symposium on Data, Discussions and Decisions in Psychiatry was held in Sydney (14 May 2022). The programme included clinically focussed sessions and expert panel discussions on treating people with schizophrenia. These articles present highlights from the symposium.
   
• Professor Stefan Leucht visited Australia in November 2022. During this time, he presented across the country on his research: a meta-analysis discussing the available evidence on the efficacy of treatments for schizophrenia. Current hot topics in the treatment of schizophrenia is a summary of his presentation.
